beach day :)

abbi and i woke up today to the sun shining in full effect. it's the first day i've seen blue sky since i arrived.

we skipped breakfast and showers and headed straight for the ocean where we purchase 2 beach chairs for $5. we were there quite early and had the whole beach to ourselves for quite some time. eventually the locals came and joined and and before long it was hopping with activity.

we shared and empanada con queso and a fresh coconut for lunch and watched the families play in the sand and waves.

the current in the water is quite strong so abbi and i only ventured out into up to our waists. we saw a man get pulled out of the ocean yesterday so we are being very cautious of going to deep.

we are now back at the apartment packing our backpacks for the galapagos. we are taking the bus to guayaquil in an hour and spending the night there before we fly out to the islands. we are hoping that the sun is a bright there as it is here today.

i dont think i'll have access to the internet out on the boat trip but i will bring the laptop so i can journal our days on the island. when we get back to land i'll upload all the entries into the blog, im cant wait to share the stories with you. we are so excited to see all the animals out there!
