arrived in playas. finally!

after 3 long flights, one night in a random hostle, 2 taxis and one long bumpy loud bus ride....I've finally arrived in playas ecuador.

our house is cute and comfy. it has everything we need. 2 beds, a courtyard with cushy chairs and a few hammoks and a make-shift kitchen. abbi was sure to give it all a good cleaning before i got here and now she finally has some company. im not sure how she survived in this tiny town all alone where no one speaks english for 12 days! no wonder everything was perfect by the time i got here, she had nothing but time on her hands.

after i'd unpacked my bag we went for a walk on the beach so i could get some fresh air and stretch my legs. by the time we were back at the house, our tour guide nancy was here to take us horseback riding on the beach.

it was very relaxing. except for the pain we both experienced in our bums and kness during the entire ride. i dont think the horses enjoyed it either. we asked our spanish only speaking guide ( with no teeth  )to turn around an hour early and take us back home! the horses moved faster on the ride home than they did on the rest of our ride, they hated the ocean!

after our ride on the beach we got dropped of at the supermarket to buy some grocereis. the town was hectic and everyone was staring at us, as we are the only fair people around for miles and miles. afterwards we went for dinner at a very simple restaurant and shared 2 fresh crabs and a creamy garlic shrimp and rice bowl for dinner. it was sooo fresh and very tasty!

we got home after dinner, made some salsa from the veggies we bought at the market and have it marinating in the fridge for lunch tomrorrow on the beach. that is about all we have planned so far for tomorrow. i look forward to sleeping in and getting familiar with the town.

it was very nice to speak with mom and dad and jess. we both love you all very much.
i've posted our favouite pictures from today and now i'll tuck abbi and i into our mosquito net wrapped beds and have a sleep.

spanish phrase of the day: somos hermanas. elles es mas vieja.
translation: we are sisters. she is older.

thanks abs.

good night xoxoxo.
